All in all, Europe’s leading trade fair for the energy industry offered an impressive insight into the future of energy supply. With 780 exhibitors from 26 nations, they presented their innovative products and services to over 25,000 trade visitors. At Messe Essen, it became clear that digitisation opens up completely new development potential for the sector. Intelligent solutions energy supply networks for entire neighbourhoods, controlling electricity consumption in a resource-saving manner and strengthening the electromobility infrastructure. Numerous decision-makers from politics, business and associations used the three days of E-world to exchange views on the industry’s key topics, make new contacts and gain valuable information.
Combinado Consult participated in the business trip to Spain on the topic of energy, environment and innovation to initiate new business. The company and the products and services of its clients were presented to the Spanish professional public. Among the visited events and fairs during the trip were the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona and the ePower & Building in Madrid. Meetings were also held in Zaragoza, the capital of the autonomous community of Aragon.

Start Up Energy Transition (SET) is an international platform supporting innovation in energy transition – powered by the German Energy Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council. It is comprised of the annual SET Award and SET Tech Festival.
This year, the third round the Top 100 start-ups will be invited to showcase and participate in the World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi next September, accommodation and flights paid. As such, we encouraged start-ups which applied in the previous two years to give it another shot in order to make it onto the Top 100, to Abu Dhabi and of course, to be selected as a finalist. In May 2019, Berlin and Buenos Aires are celebrating its 25th anniversary of city twinning. From our point of view, this is a good time to take a closer look at both cities and check out the potential for international cooperation and starting up together.
Thus we are calling start-ups from Berlin and Buenos Aires that are interested in cooperation and business partners and/or investors in the other country. At best, send us your pitch deck first by mail while speaking then about the possibilities of cooperation.
Powered by the German Energy Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council, Start Up Energy Transition (SET) is a leading international platform supporting innovation in energy transition. The SET platform is comprised of the annual SET Award, SET Tech Festival and a global network of innovators. The SET Award is an international competition for start-ups and young companies worldwide who are working on ideas affecting global energy transition and climate change. On April 16th this network came together at at the annual SET Tech Festival in the historic Kulturbrauerei in Berlin Start-ups, business leaders, policymakers and investors met in Berlin to debate about the most innovative solutions to energy transition. The exhibition space hosts several accelerators who present its most promising start-ups, and the 18 finalists of the SET award who showcase their brilliant ideas.

In March 2018, Combinado Consult provided technical support for the organisation of the B2B matchmaking of the GIZ business delegation at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart.
Each of the six Central American entrepreneurs from the IT and environmental technology sectors were given the opportunity to consolidate existing business contacts or establish new ones.
The entrepreneurs from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras were in Germany from 12 to 16 March 2018 and completed a comprehensive programme. Including talks with associations, technology companies, venture capital funds and start-ups in both sectors. The delegation spent the first two days in Berlin and then traveled on to Stuttgart.

In February 2018 Combinado Consult supported and accompanied the agenda for the visit to Germany of the Federal Investments Councils’ (CFI) governmental delegation from the argentine province Entre Rios. Part of the agenda was the matchmaking with German companies specialized in energy efficiency and renewable energies. In addition to bilateral talks at the Argentine Embassy and the Potsdam Chamber of Industry and Commerce, we organized and accompanied the government delegation visiting the energy self-sufficient community in Feldheim, Brandenburg.
Combinado Consult organized and conducted the business rounds with import companies and wholesalers for 10 selected fruit trading companies from Argentina at the booth of the Federal Investment Council (CFI). Around 90 business meetings were held during the three days of Fruit Logistica 2018.

Combinado Consult participated in November 2017 in the business trip about energy efficiency in buildings in Argentina and Uruguay organized by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Buenos Aires. The company was presented to the argentine and uruguayan trade public as well as the services of the company Etanomics and the Berlin start-up Metabuild (Ecoglobe).
Combinado Consult particpated at the business trip to Chile in November 2017 on the topic of automation technology and CHP in industry, organized by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The company was presented to the Chilean trade public and the services of the client company Etanomics and the Berlin start-up Metabuild (Ecoglobe).
Combinado Consult organized and conducted the business rounds with import companies and wholesalers for 12 selected vegetarian and vegan food companies from Argentina at the booth of the Federal Council for Investments (CFI). Thanks to the activities about 100 individual business talks took place during the five days of the Anuga fair.

What are the principles in Europe with regard to spatial planning and land use planning for renewable energies, solar energy and, above all, the installation of wind power plants? Which political structures and processes, legal rules, instruments, principles, criteria dominate the planning of renewable energy plants in different European countries – Germany, France and Denmark? Which aspects of the models could be considered by countries in Latin America?
These are key questions that we have analyzed in the framework of the comparative study on spatial planning for renewable energies in the different legal-political models also concentrating on different models of economic participation.
This study has been carried out in cooperation with Büro F, specialized in market studies on renewable energies, and FA Reitzig, lawyer specialized in administrative law.
What are the market structures? Who dominates the market? How can I get access to the German market? What are the approval regulations? How do I establish a company in Germany? Which administrative and legal questions concerning foreigners have to be clarified? Which locations and marketplaces are the best? Who are potential buyers of my products? How do I market the product?
Combinado Consult advised and accompanied Vitamina Vida OHG, the new Berlin import and wholesale company of South American fruits, on these and other questions during market entry and the process of setting up the company. Starting with market research on potentials and business opportunities in the German fruit trade market, through advice on EU import regulations, certification and customs matters, phytosanitary regulations, port and warehouse logistics, administration, market price analyses, to the acquisition of first customers and subsequent personnel recruitment for the company.
